On March 18, Yutong successfully completed the full-load trial run of its newly-installed cathodic electrophoresis automatic coating production line, marking a significant milestone in the company’s frame electrophoresis project. This achievement highlights the progress and technical advancement made in enhancing the corrosion resistance of Yutong's self-manufactured chassis.
In 2006, Yutong made a strategic investment to build a state-of-the-art cathodic electrophoresis automatic coating line, aimed at improving the durability and quality of its vehicle frames. The production line now represents the highest level of technology and automation in the domestic passenger car industry. All supporting equipment has been installed as planned, and the trial run focused on testing the reliability of key components such as spreaders, sleds, mechanized transport systems, workpiece pipelines, tanks, and chambers.
On the day of the test, a simulated frame with maximum dimensions and weight was successfully processed through the electrophoresis line, confirming the system’s capability to handle heavy loads. The full-load test was a complete success, paving the way for further trials to evaluate critical performance metrics like anti-floating behavior and process time during the electrophoresis process.
According to reports, the frame electrophoresis production line is scheduled to go into full operation on May 10. Once online, it will be capable of processing up to 120 vehicle frames per day, with 30 parts hanging at a time. This upgrade will significantly enhance the quality and production capacity of Yutong’s frames, strengthening the company’s position in the competitive market and providing a solid foundation for its global expansion efforts.
