Beijing, December 11 (Reporter Zhang Yi) – According to the latest data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers on the 11th, China's domestic automobile production and sales reached 8,059,400 and 7,951,200 units respectively from January to November this year. This marks a significant year-on-year increase of 22.25% and 23.19%, surpassing the full-year figures recorded in 2006.
The China Automobile Association reported that compared to 2006, the country saw a net increase of 7.797 million vehicles in production and 735,200 units in sales during the first 11 months of this year. Passenger car production and sales stood at 5,758,600 and 5,662,100 units respectively, showing growth of 21.64% and 22.82%. Commercial vehicle production and sales increased by 23.83% and 24.12% to 2,302,800 and 2,289,100 units respectively.
In terms of sales volume, the top ten automobile manufacturers in China were SAIC, FAW, Dongfeng, Changan, BAIC, GAC, Chery, Brilliance, Hafei, and Geely. Their sales figures for the period were 1.386 million, 1.308 million, 1,018,400, 772,300, 635,500, 459,800, 355,900, 274,900, 224,100, and 197,200 units respectively. Together, these ten companies accounted for 83% of total domestic car sales, highlighting their dominant market position.
In the passenger car segment, the top ten brands by sales included SAIC-GM-Wuling, FAW-Volkswagen, Shanghai GM, Shanghai Volkswagen, Chery, Changan, Guangzhou Honda, FAW Toyota, Dongfeng Nissan, and Beijing Hyundai. For commercial vehicles, the leading brands were Beiqi Foton, Dongfeng, FAW, Jianghuai, Jinbei, Zhongqi, Changan, Jiangling, Nanqi, and Shaanxi Auto.
These statistics reflect a strong recovery and growth in China's automotive industry, driven by increasing consumer demand and favorable economic conditions. The performance of both passenger and commercial vehicle segments indicates a balanced and robust market expansion across different sectors.
