Check out the attached photos from the Daily Chronicle. It was a two-story fire at "Collyers Mansion" on October 26, 2016. The incident was classified as a General Alarm with significant exterior work due to unsafe interior conditions. Only three people could be on the second floor at a time, which made the operation quite challenging. All things considered, it was a good response and the fire was brought under control quickly.

Here are some excerpts from the Daily-Chronicle.com article:
Firefighters were called to 974 W. State St., in Sycamore, on Wednesday evening after a neighbor reported seeing smoke. Upon arrival, crews saw smoke coming from the attic of the two-story home, according to Sycamore Fire Chief Pete Polarek. Firefighters managed to bring the fire under control within about 30 minutes.
The residents had already evacuated the home by the time firefighters arrived. No injuries were reported. The fire caused approximately $40,000 in damage to the property.
Homeowner Larry Smith, 61, who lived there with his wife and son, mentioned that they had been remodeling the house. Two weeks prior, they had completed the roof and installed new windows. He wasn’t sure what caused the fire, which appeared to have started in the area of a second-floor bedroom and hallway. He didn’t know where the family would stay that night. The fire, along with smoke and water damage, left the home uninhabitable.
No one was injured in the fire, and the Sycamore Fire Department received assistance from crews in DeKalb, Cortland, Hinckley, and Genoa.
