Check out the attached photos from the Daily Chronicle. It was a two-story fire at "Collyers Mansion" on October 26, 2016. The incident was classified as a General Alarm with significant exterior work due to unsafe interior conditions. Only three people could be on the second floor at a time, which made the operation more challenging. All things considered, it was a good response and the fire was contained effectively.

Here are some excerpts from the Daily-Chronicle.com article:
Firefighters were called to 974 W. State St. in Sycamore on Wednesday evening after a neighbor spotted smoke coming from the house. Upon arrival, crews observed smoke billowing from the attic of the two-story home, according to Sycamore Fire Chief Pete Polarek. The fire was brought under control within about 30 minutes.
The residents were already outside when firefighters arrived. Fortunately, no one was injured. The fire caused approximately $40,000 in damage to the property.
Homeowner Larry Smith, 61, who lived there with his wife and son, mentioned that they had been remodeling the house. Two weeks prior, they completed the roof and installed new windows. He wasn’t sure what caused the fire, which appeared to have started in a second-floor bedroom and hallway. The family was left without a place to stay for the night due to the extensive damage from fire, smoke, and water, making the home uninhabitable.
No injuries were reported during the incident, and the Sycamore Fire Department received assistance from crews in DeKalb, Cortland, Hinckley, and Genoa.
