I just got some updates from Chi-Town Fire Photos about a recent fire incident on the south side of Chicago. It happened at 9231 South Dobson Street. The fire broke out in a one-and-a-half story wooden structure, and the flames were particularly intense at the back of the building. Firefighters wasted no time; they quickly deployed two water lines to tackle the blaze. Truck 42 even had to make some strategic cuts in the roof to vent the smoke and heat.
The companies involved in this operation included Engine 82 and Engine 72, which were responsible for the main firefighting efforts. Truck 42 assisted with ventilation, while Tower 34 provided additional support. Battalion 23 was on scene to oversee operations, along with RIT Battalion 22 and Truck 17, Squad 5, and EMS teams. It was quite an effort to bring the situation under control.
Here are some images from the scene. The first photo shows the intensity of the fire at night. You can see how the flames consumed much of the structure. The second image captures another angle of the fire, highlighting the urgency of the situation. The third picture shows firefighters raising a ground ladder, demonstrating their quick response. In the fourth photo, you can see the firefighters hard at work, battling the blaze. The fifth image gives a broader view of the fire scene, showing the scale of the operation. The sixth photo features an E-ONE fire engine in action, equipped and ready to assist. The seventh image highlights a Pierce fire truck, showcasing the diverse fleet available to Chicago firefighters. Finally, the last photo provides another perspective of the aftermath.
It’s always inspiring to see how these professionals come together to protect our communities, especially during emergencies like this one. I’m grateful for their dedication and bravery.
