The "New Type of Sulfurized Urea Product Development and Application Research" project, led by the Technology Center of Sinopec Anqing Branch in collaboration with Anhui Agricultural University, has recently been awarded the Third Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress by Sinopec Group Corporation. This recognition highlights the innovative approach and practical value of the research.
The project introduced a simplified and cost-effective production process for sulfurized urea, making it more accessible for large-scale application. A key feature of this technology is the use of a biodegradable organic polymer as a binder, which ensures that no harmful residues remain in the soil after application, thus promoting environmental sustainability.
To address varying nitrogen and sulfur needs of crops and to tackle soil sulfur deficiency, two new sulfurized urea products were developed, containing 10% and 20% sulfur respectively. These products have been tested extensively in field trials, and the results show significant improvements in both crop yield and quality. Farmers and agricultural experts alike are optimistic about the potential of these products to enhance productivity while maintaining ecological balance.
This breakthrough not only supports sustainable agriculture but also aligns with broader efforts to reduce chemical dependency in farming practices. The success of this project marks an important step forward in the development of eco-friendly fertilizers, offering a promising solution for modern agricultural challenges.
