Example of Tirneauuz tungsten-molybdenum ore dressing plant in the Caucasus

1 Introduction
Located in the Caucasus, Tirne Auz is a tungsten- molybdenum mining-selection joint venture.
1940 flotation production, the existing production capacity of 1200t / d, the amount of molybdenum is a gold production per year 3000t, tungsten metal content 2400t.
2. Deposits, ores and mining
Tierne Auz is a skarn or skarnized marble molybdenum-tungsten deposit and horn rock and granite molybdenum deposit. The proven ore reserves are 50 Mt, the tungsten and molybdenum grades are 0.65% WO 3 and 0.25% Mo, and the retained molybdenum metal reserves are 125 kt, of which the recoverable molybdenum metal is 65 kt.
The ore is classified into two types, silicate and carbonate, according to the type of associated gangue.
The main metal minerals in the skarn type ore are fine-grained inlaid (0.01~lmm) scheelite , tungsten-molybdenum-calcium ore and molybdenum ore present in surrounding rocks (hornblende, garnet, quartz, etc.). The ore has the highest content of molybdenum and tungsten trioxide. There are also copper , bismuth , gold, silver , selenium , hooves, fluorite and the like.
The distribution of molybdenum-containing minerals and molybdenum in the ore is: molybdenum ore 50%, molybdenum-tungsten ore 30%, molybdenum-containing scheelite 11%, and molybdenum-containing vermiculite 8%.

3. Mineral processing technology
Tierne Uz tungsten-molybdenum ore comprehensively recovers molybdenum, copper and tungsten, using copper-molybdenum mixed flotation; copper-molybdenum separation and copper selection; copper-molybdenum mixed flotation tailings flotation scheelite.
The copper-molybdenum mixed flotation and copper-molybdenum separation process is shown in Figure 1. The copper-molybdenum mixed float is selected from coarse grinding (60%~69%-200 mesh), one rough selection, one sweep selection, and two selective processes. The copper-molybdenum mixed concentrate was subjected to steaming heat treatment and a section (three fine bubbles) for re-grinding, and five times (third to seventh) were selected to obtain qualified molybdenum concentrate. After the copper-molybdenum sorting ore is mixed and floated, it is subjected to steaming heat treatment and molybdenum floating copper to obtain qualified copper concentrate.

The process of the tungsten recovery circuit is shown in Figure 2. The sulphur concentrate is divided into three streams: the first one enters re-selection to obtain high-grade scheelite concentrate; the second one directly leaches phosphorus ; the third one is low-quality scheelite concentrate, which is sent to the water and metallurgical plant for treatment.
The white tungsten coarse concentrate is selected by steaming process, and the slurry is heated to 85~87 °C, and then treated with 2.7%~3% water glass solution for 60 min and then selected.

The ore grade is 0.65% Mo, 0.25% WO 3 ; the ore processing capacity is 1200t/d, the grinding fineness is 60%-200 mesh; the molybdenum concentrate grade is 47.65% Mo, 0.416% WO 3 , the molybdenum recovery rate is 47.98%; The ore grade is 61.94% WO 3 , 3.56% Mo, the tungsten recovery rate is 22.23%; the white tungsten intermediate product grade is 44.41% WO 3 , 3.59% Mo, the tungsten recovery rate is 62.79%; the power consumption is 18.56kW·h/t ore, water: 2.208 m 3 /t mine, steel ball: 0.855kg / t mine, liner: 0.lkg / t mine.
