Recently, the Xilin Gol League and Hanergy Holding Group held a signing ceremony for the investment and construction of the Xilinhot brown coal drying and upgrading polygeneration project. The project will have a construction scale of 12 million tons per year. It plans to produce 6 million tons of semi-coking coal and 480,000 tons of coal tar annually. The projected total investment is 9 billion yuan. The company plans to invest 600 million yuan to build a 600,000-ton lignite drying and upgrading production line, and an annual output of 300,000 tons of semi-coal upgraded coal and 24,000 tons of coal tar. The production line is scheduled to start in April 2009 and will be put into operation by the end of December 2010. Immediately after the completion of production of the first-stage production line, follow-up projects will be started.
