Can the radiator at home be transformed into floor heating?

In recent years, warm-installed heating has become popular and many families have installed floor heating. Some old houses also want to transform their home's heating into floor heating, but do not know how to reform it. Heating to warm the floor is a systematic project, the project is more complex, and the flow of hot water inside, the most important safety seal, so the heating instead of heating is not easy. Heating experts pointed out that the radiators and floor heating are the same as the plumbing system, and the radiators can be converted into floor heating, but the design requirements are very different, and there are many matters needing attention.



1, heating and floor heating supply water temperature

The floor heating is a kind of heating method in which the hot water or heating cable whose temperature is not higher than 60°C is buried in the coil system under the geothermal floor, and then the entire floor is heated, and the floor is radiated evenly to the interior. The heating and return water temperature is generally 75/55°C, while the warm water supply and return water temperature is not higher than 55/35°C. If the entire community is heated, only single-layer users want to modify the floor heating. In order to ensure the service life of the heating coil, it is usually practiced to add a plate heat exchanger or a mixed-water cooling device to the return water. The installation of this device can replace the high-temperature water in the heating system with low-temperature water. When installing, it is important not to directly connect the floor heating pipe to the heating supply and return pipe. If they are directly connected, the overheating of the warm water in the floor heating pipe will cause damage to the pipe and affect the life of the floor heating system.

2, the problem of balance of resistance

The resistance to floor heating is greater than that of heating, which is about ten times that of heating. If the heating coil is blindly added to the original heating system when the floor is warmed up, the pressure of the heating system may be insufficient, the hot water is difficult to circulate, and the entire floor heating system is difficult to operate normally. Therefore, when refitting, it is recommended to add a mixed water thermostatic device and force circulation through the circulation pump. Note: When adding a water mixing device, it is difficult to estimate the resistance of the original heating system. If the selected circulation pump is too large, it may affect the normal heating of the user. Experts recommend adding a bypass to the circulation pump. If the resistance is too high to meet the floor heating system, the circulation pump can be turned on.



3, floor heating plate should not be too long

The longer the floor heating coil, the greater the resistance generated and the more power consumed during operation. This requires that the length of each loop should not be too different, so as to avoid hydraulic imbalance, resulting in some loop heat, and some loops are not hot. Generally, the difference between the lengths of each loop should not exceed 10%, and each pipeline should not exceed 120 meters.

The above is the home heating to warm the attention of the project, although the floor heating is currently the best and most comfortable home heating, but privately modified there is still a certain risk. If it is necessary to refit, an installation company with a good word-of-mouth quality must be selected, load calculation and hydraulic balance calculation should be performed on the house before reconstruction, and then the overall plan should be determined.
