Magnetic separators are widely used in various industries such as mining, agriculture, ceramics, chemical processing, and food production. They are ideal for separating magnetic materials from non-magnetic ones, especially for wet or dry magnetic separation of fine particles (less than 3mm). These machines are commonly used for processing magnetite, pyrrhotite, roasted ore, ilmenite, as well as deironing coal, non-metallic minerals, and construction materials.
Working Principle of Magnetic Separator
When the ore pulp enters the trough through the feeding box, it flows into the feeding zone under the influence of water flow. The magnetic ore particles form magnetic clusters or chains due to the magnetic field. Under the action of magnetic force, these clusters move toward the magnetic poles and are adsorbed onto the cylinder. As the cylinder rotates, the alternating polarity of the magnetic poles causes non-magnetic gangue to fall off due to the magnetic mixing effect. The magnetic concentrate is then carried to the weakest magnetic area and discharged via a flushing water system. If a full magnetic roller is used, the concentrate is removed by a brush roller. The non-magnetic or weakly magnetic materials remain in the pulp and are discharged as tailings.
