The manufacturing technology of biodiesel is basically mature, and dimethyl ether and methanol have achieved technological breakthroughs in diesel engines. Dimethyl ether has entered the trial run stage on buses, and M100 methanol fuel has entered the productization stage on commercial vehicles. The rapid development of China's alternative fuel technology has reached the level of the replacement of petroleum fuels, and is gradually forming an internal combustion engine fuel system in line with the characteristics of China's resources.

Xing Min stated that “11th Five-Year Plan” is the best period for the development of the internal combustion engine industry. During this period, the internal combustion engine industry has achieved fruitful results in terms of independent innovation, product quality, standardization construction, industrial restructuring, and exports.

In the aspect of independent innovation of internal combustion engines, the entire industry has increased investment, so that the growth rate of new product output value is higher than the growth rate of total output value. At the same time, the scientific and technological innovation system of industry combined with industry and research has been continuously improved.
