The automatic parking system can be considered as one of the constituent systems of the automatic driving technology system. Ford, Volvo and other large car companies have introduced similar technologies this year, and even ZF, the component manufacturer, has also launched its parking applications.

Ford's fully automatic parking assist uses ultrasonic sensors to scan the vertical and diagonal positions of parking spaces at speeds of 18 km/h and below, giving the driver sufficient reaction time to avoid overtaking the parking spaces. The driver can control the vehicle through a remote control inside or outside the vehicle. Vehicles equipped with automatic parking assistance will automatically perform steering, acceleration and braking, and will automatically drive the vehicle into a parking space based on the camera and sensor-related guidance system. "Imagine that you are driving into a parking lot and there is only one last left in the parking space. There is no room to open the door when you park in the car," Ford spokesperson Scott Fosgard said at a press conference. "In this case, this (Full-automatic parking assistance) will help the driver to “get out of trouble”. The driver does not need to be in the car. The vehicle can automatically enter or exit the parking space 100%.”

The same principle applies to the automatic parking systems introduced by other car companies, but the types and locations of the sensors are different.

However, ZF's parking applications are different. At the company’s test site, a trailer was attached to the tail of a car. In general, "two-stage" vehicles connected to trailers are more difficult to park in storage, because the two sections will turn in the opposite direction when reversing. ZF's Smart Trailer Parking application is implemented via a smartphone. Select the gearbox for forward or reverse transmission by touch and select the speed. After these settings are completed, the user can drag the body in the screen with his or her finger, and at the same time, the trailer in the parking lot moves along with the finger. The driver does not have to control the vehicle by himself and he correctly parks the vehicle in the garage.
