DuPont Releases Global Automotive Color Popularity Report 2010

Automotive paint company DuPont recently released the 2010 global car color report, which shows that silver is the world's most popular car color, but black follows.

It is reported that every year, DuPont conducts a sample survey based on the global sales of automobiles in the year, and finally ranks the color preferences according to the popularity of each color car.

According to DuPont's survey report, the number of silver cars sold in 2010 was 26%; black cars accounted for 24%; gray and white each accounted for 16%; red accounted for 6%; blue accounted for 5%; and brown accounted for 3%; 2%; gold is 1%; other colors are 1%.

Compared to the company’s 2009 data, the ratios of silver and black have both increased by 1%; gray has risen by 3%; blue and red have dropped by 4% and 2% respectively.

The above-mentioned investigators have stated that when a car is purchased, if the car they like does not have the desired color, about 40% of the consumers will endure the pain and choose another brand.
