According to Reuters, Israel’s mobile driving technology maker Mobileye said on Monday that it is expected that the Chinese government will introduce a new policy to force large commercial vehicles and trucks to install basic autopilot systems when they are on the road. When the vehicle deviates from the lane or is about to collide with a pedestrian on the street, the on-board automatic driving system will alert the driver. Later this year, China will publish a draft standard for self-driving cars, which will be the first to be implemented on highways and then implemented on urban roads.
The industry believes that driverlessness is the ultimate future of the car, and the current driverless technology is still in the ADAS stage of high-end cars. At present, the ADAS penetration rate of the global vehicle market is only about 5%. Accompanied by the acceleration of automobile intelligentization trend and the increase in safety requirements, the ADAS penetration rate in the future is expected to increase substantially. The agency expects the compound annual growth rate of China's ADAS market to reach 35%, and it could achieve nearly 80 billion yuan market space by 2020.
